Have you guys seen this? golo.com

the commercial was on when i deleted a recording and the first words i heard were “insulin resistance” so i listened to the rest of it and went to the site.
of course i only skimmed… they are selling a supplement and a membership but it still looks/sounds LCHF/keto ish…other than the “bread and pasta” but…since the site doesn’t give any examples of meals it could be low carb versions of bread and pasta…i’m not going to sign up to find out LOL
all googling resulted in was telling me multiple times that it was the “most searched diet in 2016” (not by me…this is the first i have heard of it LOL)

The secret that the diet industry doesn’t want you to know is that the key to losing weight and keeping it off is managing insulin and not counting calories.

there seem to be a bunch of businesses selling low carb diets. No need to buy it, you can do it yourself.

never planned on it…
i just thought it was cool that there is a possible LCHF/keto ish diet service with the focus on IR with a commercial on tv…even if they are selling supplements

I have seen this GOLO and meant to look it up because I thought, well that’s keto…but they must be selling something. Supplements, figures. There is also an infomercial with Dr. Mark Hyman that is definitely LCHF, but maybe not Keto. I think he’s selling books/ DVDs/supplements. Of course, because why would you spread the word unless you can make a profit? How lucky are we to have the 2KDs? Can you imagine how much time and effort Richard and Carl invest to bring us all this valuable info for free??! Hope you know how thankful we are for this guys!

there are some images available on the internet…if you google “golo meals” or “golo recipes” you can find this stuff…not sure Golo is happy about it, since their revenue depends on it…here is an example of one thing I found (and to be honest, I’m not that impressed):

so, issues i have with this:
(1) using a lot of milk, better to use cream instead
(2) they use non-stick cooking spray…gross shit made with vegetable oil, why not use butter?!
(3) small amount of cheese…why small?
(4) grapes on the plate…seriously??? those are sugar bombs
(5) like as if buttering the bread forgives the bread of its sins!!!:rage:
(6) “balanced” Golo breakfast…ahhhhh…well, there you have it…now we all know WTF is going on here, don’t we…:imp:

ugh…well the part i quoted sounded good :joy:

Yeah…i noticed those guys are sneaky. In the stuff they market, you don’t see the whole wheat flour, sweet potatoes, etc. So, they know how to draw in the low carb crowd. Sneaky buttheads! You can only find this stuff if you google search and look at non-Golo site images.

“balanced” Golo breakfast…[/quote]

Any time you see the word “balanced” in the context of nutrition, bail out. The purveyors of this nonsense word are living at the intersection of ambition and incompetence, not unlike graffiti artists.

You’re welcome. We’re doing this to pay it forward, because there were people like Prof Noakes, Doctors Westman, Phinney, Voleck, Eenfeld, Attia, and Naiman who published free content about low carb diets on Youtube that gave us the signposts that allowed us to reclaim our own health back.

One day we’ll make some money doing what we are doing, but until then …
