Hashimoto & Keto

#1

Hi

I’m back after a prolonged absence. Since I was doing keto regularly in 2019 things have changed for me health wise

I’ve recently been diagnosed with Autoimmune Hypothyroidism AKA Hashimoto’s plus OA in both knees - I’m thinking keto will help reduce inflammation and also help me lose weight - currently around 86kg (haven’t weighed since starting keto) and should be nearer 70kg.

Does anyone have this condition and still manage keto and fat loss well?

Any tips gratefully received

I recently restarted keto when some metabolic markers showed to be in the early stages of being high or problematic. One of those was this autoimmune. So I’ll be interested to watch how my own keto Journey has an impact on this and other things. Now that you’ve started this thread I’ll post any updates but it’ll be about 3 or 4 months before I have blood work updated.

Neisha, Dr Ken Berry’s wife has Hashimoto’s. They often reference it so might be a good source of info.
Neisha has her own channel though I’m not sure which one is more helpful to you.

I don’t plan to check my bloods for about the same time, it’ll certainly be interesting to see where we are in 3 months.

That’s interesting, I’ll have a look around on the internet and see what I can find, thanks for that :+1:
