Done that. I dropped about 75lbs doing keto. Massive stress knocked me out of being consistent. I maintained for a while then drifted by keto with maybe a bit too much protein and wine one evening on the weekend. The wine I think was killing me even though I fasted Mon/Thurs. Now no alcohol, 3 days a week to get back one track… if this becomes undoable I’ll change it up again…
Has anyone ever done an extreme keto diet?
Thanks, I did it with low to moderate exercise as well. I tore my right quad repeatedly over two months before seeing a doctor. I then went zero simple carb then rolled into keto. 5-6 months later I had arthroscopic surgery on my right knee and a year ago I was getting set to get my left knee done then fire ravaged our community. Thus stress etc… anyhow, the amazing thing is after 20 months of keto my knees feel pretty good and when I fast they feel great. I’m 6’5” and when I was cycling 100-200 miles a week I was between 203 and 215. My goal is sub 210lbs with a stretc( goal of sub 200lbs…
I just listened to the podcast Metabolic rate, have you listened to that?
It explains a lot about the fasting, cold hands/feet and what your body needs/sheds
during the process.
I used to get cold hands/feet. Not so much anymore. I supplement cheleted magnesium, potassium on a regular schedule and himylan salt as needed.
No clue, sorry. I just drink water, and my own version of keto-ade for electrolytes. But I’m all about water, water and more water. (Training myself to drink it (rather than cordial/juice) was HARD, but I can’t imagine drinking anything else these days.)
