Halloween Treat suggestion

(Joey) #1

For the past few years my wife and I have bought boxes of small “treat” sized individually wrapped Slim Jims when it comes to doling out something for those little treat 'o treaters in our neighborhood.

When we ask the kids, “Do you like Slim Jims?!” they usually scream “YEEES!” … and oftentimes the parents of the younger ones keeping back a few feet will also scream as much, too.

The even better news is that, since we always over-purchase (rather than risk getting caught short), we both get to eat these keto-friendly leftovers, instead of having a bunch of sweets to confront when the night is over.

Food for thought. :clown_face::japanese_ogre::ghost::alien: Boo.

Huh! I would have guessed they have enough additives to make them less keto friendly… they’re so tasty! I need to investigate. Occasionally I will have a hankering late night, that might fit the bill.

We don’t have Slim Jims over here, but we have some similar items.

As a kid, if I got a treat when we went to the supermarket it would always be a Pepperami, rather than sweets or chocolate.

I suspect most kids round here would just look at you funny if you offered them meaty treats instead of candies though xD

One or two occasionally won’t hurt you

Yeah, to be be clear, I’m not suggesting a Slim Jim is health food. I assume they’re made from stuff falling off the pork conveyor belt onto the factory floor. Still, seems preferable to leftover Hershey’s Kisses :registered:

Was it on the factory floor longer than the five second rule?
I recently rescued a lovely chunk of pork belly from the restaurant floor and my friends looked appalled. Ha! It’s pork belly, for Pete’s sake!
(And apparently, they are making some assumptions about the cleanliness of my own floors.)

At some point before landing on the restaurant floor it was nestled inside the belly of a pig. It’s all relative.
