Guess the strange but fascinating benefit of keto!

My fingernails are growing like I don’t know what. Really! Even the one with the annoying split. I’m living in fear of my split redeveloping. Well, it’s enough to scare anyone.

It wasn’t that, but it was a damn fine guess!!

Sheri, that’s so funny!

I was walking about not sure why I went there in the first place…losing my keys, leaving the doorkey in the lock outside, all that stuff. And keto seems to have bashed all that on the head.

The only reason this couldn’t be the right answer is because kitty knows that the only reason I was constantly retracing my steps to the kitchen was because she kept pestering me for food… different food… and now she’s getting addicted to cream as a result of keto.

Kitty also tried some roast beef yesterday. We both hated it. Guess we’ve both gone off meat! Seriously weird. There will be some heavily-laden birds and wildlife after they’ve munched a whole joint of the finest cow… I hung the roast in the garden.

Good guess!

I think it’s all going to be a terrible letdown, just like ‘Gentleben’ said, earlier!!

Although, someone actually got it RIGHT!

They did. They so did!

(Carl Keller) #64

Ummm, I’m with @Sheri_Knauer , I think it might run right through you! But I’ve never tested that. I’ve just read here that it affects some folks in that way. But it’s really fascinating how this stuff has helped a lot of people with dementia and alzheimers

(Annie Jenkinson) #65

But wouldn’t it be fun to try and find out… who’s up for it?!

Hmm… thought now. Actually, since starting keto, I can’t imagine a bolt for the loo. It would make a change!

#66

Come on Annie I know I got it tell us tell us tell us

(Annie Jenkinson) #67

My whistling was quite good before… it’s probably worse now, so I will have to try.

I tried…I do think my whistleability has declined. :frowning:

What a racket…! Weird, but true. I lost that skill. So it wasn’t that!

(Annie Jenkinson) #68

Heeee, snort!! Love this.

I do have a crypt below the house… so that isn’t too hard to conceive! Good giggle, this one was. Might try the channelling of the dead a bit later. I’ll need more MCT for that.

(Annie Jenkinson) #69

Was that a command, Doug?!

Hang on…let me give that a go. I shall report back! Haven’t tried touching my toes for maybe a decade, so if something snaps, you’re liable… !!

Okay… the result… I can touch them with ease. But there were a few cracks and pops from the lower back. Thankfully, I didn’t get stuck like that.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!

Hilarious!

Hey, seriously, I can imagine that might happen to someone. Like… did anyone read about the elderly couple in the U.K. who drove into town, forgot they’d driven… walked home…

A few days passed and they realised their car wasn’t there. Someone vaguely remembered a car trip. They went back to town, couldn’t recall where they left it. The whole city was searching the streets.

They picked up a parking fine of a few hundred GBP… which was waived when the council realised they had a sense of humour (rare).

Loved this one!

Even if it was wrong!

(Annie Jenkinson) #71

Now, TeeCee. That HAS happened.

I never imagined i’d drink a strong black coffee. I liked it sweet, milky, weak.

Now? Three spoonfuls ain’t enough.

I love it black and heaped… and no sweeteners. You’re so good at this…even if wrong!

(Annie Jenkinson) #72

I am waiting for that one. I don’t wear glasses but I do get a bit of blurred vision when at the computer too much. Working, you ask?

Nah, keto-foruming!

I did have a short period pre-keto when I took some supplement or other–can’t recall what–and suddenly found I could read the small print on pill bottles and supplements again. But I forgot which supplement so can’t replicate!

Maybe keto will bring back the memory… one can hope.

So, it wasn’t that.

(Annie Jenkinson) #73

I honestly don’t know… but can’t kill a poor onion just to find out! Well, maybe. I’ll see how ruthless I feel later. If the evil overtakes me…ha.

(Annie Jenkinson) #74

So! I am going to report that someone GOT IT RIGHT!

Yep, they so did!

And the winner is… wait for it…

Bellyman! Aka Brian!

He said:

“You seem happy in your posts. Were you singing?? Kitty might notice that. A few kitties out there might sing along.”

YUP!

I said something to the cat in a sing-song sort of voice (as you do, before you become a crazy cat lady) and I thought–hey, that sounded a bit different??

Sort of clear, echoey. So, I tried singing, something I never could do. This came after three days of a mega sore throat that started when I began taking MCT oil and olive oil directly, a tablespoon at a time. It was the sore throat from hell and came on just after taking oils straight from the spoon.

Well, heck. I can sing. I can honestly sing for the first time since I was about six. High notes, strong and stable voice, the works. Something good has occurred to the vocal cords.

Previously, couldn’t sing for toffee. I felt breathy/breathless or my voice sounded weak and quivery. Now, I could be in the choir… it’s bizarre.

The oddest part was the sore throat. It was so sore I could barely speak for a few days. It did feel like strained vocal cords as if I’d been shouting for hours or giving a mega presentation but I hadn’t… Then that cleared and there was the singing voice.

It’s uncanny…

Anyway, Grubby cat squealed to go outside the first time I sang. But now, she’s kind of fascinated and comes to paw my face… probably trying to get a hold of my throat.

So, guys, please all try your singing voices especially if you swig the oils!!

(Annie Jenkinson) #75

You!

You!

YOU!

You, sir…were bang-on, correct!!!

If I could give a prize, I would. Well done you!

See my last post in the thread… for all the details, ha.

Hey!!! I was gonna say that but I used
whistle!
OK I won’t be a sore loser …congratulations and
AWSOME!
I’m so happy you can sing happy New Year little bird

(mole person) #77

Now I feel cheated! I wanna be able to sing too! Hey KETO, what gives???

Sounds like a good time to try new things or things you previously didn’t like. I used to not care for mushrooms, artichokes, brussels sprouts and cauliflower. Now I look forward to eating them. I suppose carbs (sugar) are the jealous type. They sabotage your taste buds so you don’t go loving on other things so much. At least that’s my theory. :stuck_out_tongue:

I love the picture of Grubby cat in the box!
