I did it. I ate a Girl Scout cookie. A “Savannah Smile” cookie. It’s supposed to be lemony, powdered sugar goodness. Slightly buttery. Crumbly. Delicious.
Supposed to be.
Blech. So not worth my time, my macros, my body.
Gross.
Hopefully I didn’t throw things off too much.
Anyone find themselves tempted now that this cookie season is upon us?
GS Cookies (dang it!)
I am constantly tempted by stands outside the grocery store. One of the ladies at work has a suitcase she rolls around with at least a bushel of GS cookies she is selling for her daughter. Kind of cheating in my view but it didn’t stop me from buying from her last year. So far so good. Last year I can’t count how many boxes I polished off alone.
Normally, I could polish off a whole sleeve of Dos-si-dos in one sitting. Now, not tempted. I did buy a couple of boxes though as the girls had a box you could donate the cookies to troops overseas.
Hey, congratulations, you did yourself a favor. Instead of pining and craving them, you blew the mystery wide open and now you can pass them up without flinching.
Personally, I shop in the mornings during the Girl Scout mating season. Those squeaky little things have gotten obnoxious.
I never looked at it that way. HA! I used to love those. They were second only to the beloved Thin Mints.
I successfully repelled the neighborhood dealer just the other day when she rang my doorbell.
They’d be much healthier if they were made from actual girl scouts.
Just sayin’.
I lost count of how many I ate when the supply arrived at work. (the owners buy a bunch and put them out)
Thankfully I know longer want those – I’ve completely lost the urge. It’s been a year and my brain has been warped (thankfully) away from the sugar. Sometimes I want something sweet, but I can also make something with a few drops of Stevia and be done with it.
If any of us are tempted by GS cookies, we will probably lose the urge after reading the nutritional info and ingredients list.
I sent mine to my son, who is a Marine. I sent them Feb 15 and he just got them today March 1st. He said it felt like forever knowing they were coming… He will burn right through those cookies! So I supported my daughter by purchasing them, and hooked up my boy…
Thankfully, I have no “dealers” by me, so no temptation!!! I love that they can be donated to troops or folks in need though.
