Gratitude for all of you and how this group interacts

Just a quick note of gratitude to all of you and how you interact. You guys are so supportive, even in disagreement, you all seem to operate from a place of support and geniune concern and care for each other.

I just experienced a complete deriding for making a comment on another group, in support of a person asking a question about bulletproof coffee and what has worked for me (like i would do here).

I let them know that I enjoyed some heavy cream and small amount of coconut oil in my coffee and to experiment with what the question asker felt agreed with his/her body.

For this heresy, i was treated to a most unpleasant screed about how i was not following their dogma and a nasty - well you may have lost 20 pounds but I’ve lost 100. Also, that MCT oil is snake oil among other things ??

So needless to say, not a group I will be revisiting anytime soon.

Dogma is alive and well and people jealously guard it.

Anyhow - not going to call out anyone else’s little corner of the world, just wanted to let you all know that I so grateful for warm community that has been fostered, the open minds, respect and discourse on this forum. It’s a real testament to @richard and @carl and all of the wonderful admins and group members here. Really enjoying learning from you and sharing my journey.

Keep it up - the differing points of view all help us find our perfect n=1…

I agree this is a rare place in the often ugly cyberinterwebsphere. And I totally credit the kindness of Carl and Richard as well, it seeps into everything they create. And it MATTERS.

That’s why I became a Patreon! I encourage anyone who can afford it to pitch in and keep this place going for years to come.

Hi, I am new to this forum and to keto and have never been on any other forums so I have nothing to compare it to. But I feel incredibly grateful that I came to such an open and loving place! All of the people here are so supportive and have so much information and wisdom. I am sorry that happened to you Jo but it is nice how negative experiences give us contrast to appreciate the good ones even more :-)

People are idiots. Listen what your body allows and wants and keto on.

Yes I like it here too. Very professional :grinning:

I agree wholeheartedly. When I first started listening to the podcast, I was blown away by the grace and kindness that both Carl & Richard exemplify. They come across as very genuine, understanding, supportive, and friendly. This is quite different and very refreshing! I am sure that influenced that overall vibe of this forum. I’m sure most of us would rather conduct ourselves like them, as opposed to being judgy, snarky, insensitive, etc. In my experience, following a ketogenic diet takes quite a bit of tweaking for the individual. I have had to make numerous alterations over the months- and I’m still tinkering to get it just right for me, and constantly experimenting! There is no one right way for everyone. And I too appreciate this forum!
