Grass fed butter in Canada?

Help! Trying to find grass fed butter in Edmonton, Alberta. I guess Canada has strict laws for importing dairy. Our winters are too long and too cold for the cattle to eat grass. Anyone have any suggestions?

I think Organic Meadow might have grass fed butter? I’ve gotten their whipping cream and milk from PC stores before and know it’s grass fed, but I’m not entirely sure about the butter.

Living close to the border I can just drive over and pick up a bunch of Kerrygold pretty much whenever, but I suppose Edmonton is too far away from the US.

Okay, good to know. We are kind of limited way up in the northern hemisphere

I was in Toronto in Sept and was lucky enough to find a block of Gay Lea Salted. It’s the first that I’ve tried that even came close to KG in taste to me. Not grass fed, but awesome just the same! Go figure I can’t get it here in the States.

Yeah, the dairy industry has strict regulations for importing and exporting product across the border. It’s all very political :unamused:

I’m in Calgary and I can get it at Safeway (Kiwi brand) and at Superstore in their organic fridge section next to the vegan butter

Also if you have a Planet Organic they have it there but be prepared to pay $11 a bar!

Thanks, will check it out. I fell off the wagon last night with all the Halloween candy siting around my house. Feeling very crappy today :weary:

We went up to visit family recently there (small town outside of Bellville in Ontario) and it was hell trying to find grassfed butter and organic cream without any additives. I couldn’t find avocado mayo either. I was trying to stay on track for the week I was there, but it didn’t happen. A week later, I came back 3.2 pounds heavier, feeling like crap, and it took 8 days to drop that! I didn’t eat a lot of bad food (other than I shared poutine a couple of times with my son), so it was shocking to put on that much and that it took so long to take it off. I think it’s the seed oils and the bad fats verses the carbs. I was wondering what the deal was with the dearth of dairy and now I see. Good luck!
