I went to see a very good friend that I haven’t seen for a very long time yesterday. It was her birthday, and I decided to visit her for the first time in years. She has a lot of animals, and I have a super allergic daughter, so visiting when the children were smaller was not an option. But anyways, we had dinner and she told me she’d ditched the carbs to get her T2D under control, and was currently at such good levels that she doesn’t need meds. She knows I’ve been low carb for years, but I’ve tried not to be too pushy with it - she’s also dealt with a break-up and other very demanding things in her life. I do however, think that my example has planted the idea in her head, as I’m the only one in our circle that eats this way. She has also joined a keto-diet group at her local gym to get some support during this startup fase, which I think is awesome!
I am so happy (and relieved) that she has adopted this as a lifestyle, and are having such great results. She is a very special person to me, and watching her getting sicker is heartbreaking!
I just needed to share the good news with people that understand why this is such a big deal
