Sorry I search the forum as best I could and online I can’t find any real info on goji berries. Are they okay to eat? I know small amounts of blueberries raspberries and blackberries are okay. but what about Goji berries and also strawberries? Thank you
Goji berries and strawberries?
I eat strawberries. Not very many but I slice them and have them on my full fat Greek yogurt. They are usually included on most keto lists as okay. I’m not familiar with Goji.
All you have to do is look up the nutrition facts and see if you can fit them in. I’m sure in small amounts they’re fine, as long as you don’t go over your 20g daily carbs (or whatever your personal limit is). I used to LOVE Goji berries FYI They’re about half sugar.
Yeah I guess evidently Goji berries are pretty high in sugar and carbs but the health benefits are pretty fantastic. I’m going to get some and probably just eat one day LOL
Couple times a month I will blitz 4 medium strawberries with HWC as a desert. They taste so sweet to me now that they are sickly
I don’t know. They were just one car in the train of fad “superfoods” that came along starting in the mid-late 90s (probably earlier, actually): Mangosteen, Acai, Goji, Noni, Aloe Vera… I mean, I’m sure there’s some beneficial nutrients, but it’s not like eating a handful of whatever is going add 10 years onto my life… Heck, you’d probably have to eat so many that the sugar detriment would outweigh the other benefits lol!
In any case, eat them if you like them and can fit them in, but don’t buy the hype.
On a side note, have you seen the episode of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia where they sell the “Invigaron” made from “super berries” that grow high in the Andes? it’s hilarious! (the episode is called “Mac and Dennis buy a Timeshare”).
You have a point lol, and no I haven’t seen the show yet my sister keeps telling me I need to watch it LOL one of these days when I get a little bit more TV mommy time to myself I’m pretty sure it’s on Netflix.
