Gluten free doesn’t equal = keto does it.
Gluten free
Nope.
E.g. potatoes are gluten free but full of carbs.
You can, however, get products that are both “gluten free” AND “keto”.
I am going to. Bakery tomorrow and I am looking at the menu to see what I can order.
I went out tonight and told them it was our first time. I ordered and have now spiked my BGL. On the way out o asked if I was able to order the burger without the bun. Her reply was oh we have a lettuce leaf they they use instead. Lesson is ask next time. I have learnt my lesson I can honestly tell you I have taken 10units novo rapid and will need to take more to get it down.
I’m confused about two things: just because they served you the burger with the bun, why did you eat the bun?
And why are you going to a bakery? I doubt you will find anything there that is keto-friendly and it’s going to be like walking into a torture chamber seeing all the things you can’t have.

I like to say, Keto = Gluten free, but Gluten free doesn’t = keto! With that said, I’m sure some sneaks in here and there. There’s more words for Gluten than there is sugar these days!
Because I didn’t speak up for myself with the burger. But I will next time. I seen the gluten free/vegan/vegetarian options. Didn’t see the lettuce leave and didn’t ask.
Why am I going to a bakery because I was invited and none of that interests me so I am going to ask there about a lettuce leaf wrap. I am going to take some oops bread with me. They also have something called callibroccoli so I am interested to ask about that. It says there they will make fresh sandwiches to order. So, I will order the filling on a plate no bread.
I do m research before I go googling there menu. Just got caught at last one won’t happen again
I’ve had great success at various bakeries near work by shifting to quiches. We tend to go as a group and the carbers in the group grab sandwiches. Even for the sandwiches at one of the bakeries, they have this amazing chicken sandwich with basil pesto and brie. I simply grab a knife and fork and leave the bread behind, or if we are not in a hurry, I’ll ask for them to make one on a plate without the bun. They always accommodate.
So even at a bakery, I find there can be many options if you are open to adapting or can have a dialog with the staff.
Good luck and send a picture to the https://www.ketogenicforums.com/t/what-did-you-keto-today/ thread!
Thank you. I never thought about the quiche. I have been doing an Australia program called Braveheart and it has given me the why and helping me with the confidence.
