Global Diet

(Victor Larsen) #1

New to this forum have been on keto since August 2018 and it’s been great so far…

In the last while I’ve seen a number news items (tv and print) on this global diet. I’m not one to put my choices over anyone else’s but I’m always willing to stand up for what works for me.

I’m frankly not happy about the way this is being presented and I really would like to see some keto points of view presented in public media to refute or at least contest this kind of global speak that r presents such a limited view.

Hi and welcome I guess you are talking about the Eat_Lancet report that has been in the media? There are a few threads on it already. If not can you provide a link to the report you are looking at.

The news items I’ve seen all reference the lancet report but they’ve titled their pieces with “global diet”.

Yes I’ve seen the report and don’t agree with it in general but what troubles me is the lack of balance in the news reports as only one point of view is expressed… I would like to see the keto pundits get some equal air time.

My gut feel is if this that this diet will continue to be mainstreamed and will become the global standard just because it suits the agenda of a select few!

Let them eat vegan, more bacon for us.

But seriously we can only ultimately be responsible for ourselves. There’s always been an abundance of lies and a shortage of truth in the mass media on any given subject. Always read with a skeptical heart and mind. They don’t have your best interest in mind, they’re looking for profits and get huge research grants from industrial giants who grow corn, wheat and soy.

Welcome Victor.

There’s so much false diet propaganda out there that it boggles the minds of people who understand how carbs, fat and protein really affect us and it’s all about money.

All of it makes me unhappy too but frankly I don’t see an end to the lies as long as the money keeps flowing in. In the meantime, it’s up to people like us to be an example of what LCHF really does, keep pointing to the science that proves the carb pushers have it all wrong and help those who we can.
