Ghee and the dairy issue

Living in Norway we are not used to using Ghee as butter. We use regularly butter instead. What is Ghee and is it wise switching to Ghee instead of butter if I want to experiment with eliminating dairy from my diet for a while or is Ghee still considered dairy?

Ghee is dairy with most of the milk proteins removed. Some people who are sensitive to dairy find they can tolerate ghee even if they cannot tolerate butter. It can vary from person to person. It couldn’t hurt to try using ghee and see if it works better for you and your health goals.

As @DiMo says, also I think it just tastes better.
