Getting the Keto High

(Bob) #1

I hear individuals talk about the high they experience when in ketosis. Very high energy and mind clarity. I’m in ketosis (0.7 -2.2) most days but I do not experience the high that others report. Is there more than a keto diet needed? Does fasting, exercise, sleep, stress, other factors impact experiencing the keto high. Are there papers, postings or n=1 experiences that would help me understand what I need to also experience the great days other have.

Thanks for your feedback.

Try fasting for a few days.

My understanding is that most of it kicks in after you become fat adapted.

I’m not there yet.

Fat adapted and fasting, both IF and extended ones make me feel pretty happy and full of energy. YMMV, some say they never get there.

I also take supplements so my electrolytes stay in balance.

Good luck on finding your sweet spot.

It crept up on me, the realisation came about three months in when I had a few tons of logs to chop and stack - i’d been at it for several hours and I realised I wasn’t tired or aching and I felt like I had more energy than when I started. I was chopping that wood for a week and revelling in my new found stamina. Keto power.

Day to day I doubt I would have realised it’s only when I push myself I discover energy i’d long given up on.

On day 4 I felt great.
