Gained weight during IF

(Briton) #1

So I have been doing IF for awhile and this is the first time this has happened. I gained 4 lbs this week. The only thing different is I recently started eating 3-4 oz of cream cheese with everything but the bagel seasoning. I haven’t shown a dairy sensitivity on the past. Thoughts?

Try to remove the cream cheese this week?

3-4oz w everything would wipe Me out🤢
Did you feel bloated, fatigued or just more tired w the cream cheese

W me, I say that from experience
That’s why from the above I no longer “ for now “ eat cream cheese or dairy

Good Luck

How many extra calories and macros is that? Just cream cheese and seasoning might be adding more than enough sodium. I tried using Himalayan salt and couldn’t drop a pound all month until the past few days while lowering that mineral.

P. S. Sodium is the umbrella word here. You know what I mean :grinning:

I had similar this week. I’ve been loosing weight steadily since I started 9 weeks ago, but this week it showed I’ve gained 2 pounds? Can’t say why or how this happens, but I’m not worried about it since I know it wasn’t from a cheat or anything. I’ve been pretty much eating OMAD as I had been, and even fasted for 72 hrs. this week, from Monday to Thursday since I wasn’t hungry. … I felt fine the entire time, but yesterday (Saturday) for some reason actually felt a little bloated, like Troy mentioned above. And still somewhat the same today?

I was actually thinking I may have overdid the salt in the past few days, so it could be related to that? Unsure?

Most likely water weight (retention) fluctuations from sodium and potassium intake and of course your probably getting enough magnesium? (it’s not the cheese)

Zinc may help regulate or evenly distribute all three or THE BIG THREE?

I don’t think it’s possible that the cream cheese could be the culprit, but you can drop this to see what happens.

By the way, anyone listening to the Keto Hacking MD podcast with Jimmy Moore and Dr. Limansky? They tried a 90% fat diet for a week…and Jimmy Moore’s indicators (insulin, LPIR) of insulin resistance went UP, not down. That’s right, UP! And his ketones went DOWN. Maybe you have something similar?
