Not sure what happened. I ate some regular foods, popcorn and maybe some crackers, probably more actual volume than I recall. The scale today said 222, yesterday it was 212! I’m sure some of this is temporary as carbs carry a lot of water but what can I do to get back on track? I already ran 5 k in hopes of sweating some out but that didn’t drop the scale any.
Gained 10 pounds in 1 day
It’s impossible to gain 10 lbs in 1 day. Did you eat 10 lbs of food? Seriously, did you weigh on the same scale both days? Were you wearing the same cloths, is the scale functioning properly?
10 pounds of fat, that is.
When I used to do 3-hour sessions at the gym in the morning, it was not unusual for me to drop 10 to 15 pounds during that 3 hours. I used to take a couple shirts and a couple towels with me to the racquetball courts. I’d have to wring out the shirts to keep playing and needed the towels to wipe up sweat, especially if I ended up diving for a shot and sliding on my sweat.
I’d put all of that lost weight back on at work, between drinking water and the half-gallon of juice I’d buy on the walk in to work. I had to stop the juice after I figured out aspartame gives me blinding headaches if I have too much of it. Worse than MSG.
That was during a 6-month stint of a low fat diet with lots of exercise, where I dropped from 405 down to 300. I was probably in the best condition of my life, until I dove head-first into the wall for a backhand shot in racquetball, knocking myself out and herniating my L3/L4 vertebrae. Then, between the pain and lack of exercise and comfort foods…
Water retention and stress can easily pack on 10 over night. Just KCKO.
Naked both times. I ate a lot more than I typically do in a day and haven’t evacuated in a couple days. I think it has to be water weight for the most part. Yes, it was the same scale at exactly the same time of day.
I think I’ll fast for at least 12 hours then go back to the regular keto diet, drinking nothing but water. I’m sure it will come down quickly. I do feel very bloated and have to assume this is mostly water retention. Thanks for all of your comments!
Water weight and poop weight, most likely. Chinese food can be very salty. Fasting is probably a good idea.
I had a boyfriend who worked the lighting rig at stadium gigs - he could easily lose 5kg of water each night.
Ate enough salt (pretzel binge) long ago that I should have taken on 18lbs/8kg of water just to dilute it down to normal body concentration. Did not weigh myself; later calculated it.
