GABA and higher glucose

I just started taking GABA for RLS which I’ve had for a long time. I take one pill of 500 mg about an hour before bed. My BG in the mornings have been unusually high and I’m wondering if it’s the GABA. In general my BG seem erratic throughout the day. Very unusual for me. I added a higher dose of Inositol in the morning as well. Maybe that’s contributing to the erraticness of the day numbers? Has anyone had any experience with these? Any nugget will help. I’ve been keto since 2018 and am “diabetic” controlled by food and exercise. My last A1C was 5.7 which has gone up from 5.4 but my insulin numbers are quite low so I’m not extremely worried about that. If my daily BG stay this high though, my A1C might rise higher and that would worry me. Thought?

Never noticed or heard of GABA doing that, 5.4 to 5.7 is a difference of like 10-12, so well within ignoreable but clearly keep an eye on it. GABA is a great supp either way, but did a good bioavailable Magnesium never help the RLS?

I take 500 mg of malate. That one seems to work the best for some reason and some potassium as well. I should also include that I take a small amount of marijuana oil as well. All together the Magnesium, potassium and marijuana work fairly well. At least it’s reduced it significantly although it’s not gone. Id like to remove the marijuana and replace it with GABA but certainly not at the expense on my BG. I found the GABA worked quite well for the RLS even though I really cut back the marijuana. There is always something. I may have to continue experimenting to see if it’s just a blip or if it really is a problem

More likely the inositol as it’s a sugar.

I’ve been taking inositol at a lower quantity for a long time and haven’t had an issue. I moved it to the daytime now as I think the GABA and the inositol together might have created a reaction. My day time BG has now stabilized now which is a relief. Last night I took the GABA with ACV water and I had no rise in BG. Yay! Hope thats all I need to do. We’ll see

But you just said you increased the dose so it will have more of an effect.
Try dropping it back down to the old dose.
