FYI: Fast Food Habits of Americans
Just FYI it’s another “survey” “study” and it’s from the government…so not sure how much weight I’d give it.
Plus I think that headline is misleading. To me it strongly implies that the study is saying that is a section of Americans which eat fast food every day. That’s not what the article explains though. The article says that on any given day, 85 million Americans will eat fast food. Tomorrow it might be the same 85 million or a completely different 85 million.
That’s really not that shocking to me at all. 325million Americans X 3 meals a day = ~1 Billion meals eaten. So fast food accounts for about 10% of the meals eaten. Big deal. In fact they even state later on that, “On average, adults in the US consumed 11.3 percent of their total daily calories from fast food between 2007 and 2010.”
Did they really need a study to determine we eat a lot of fast food?
Good use of tax-payer money, fellas!
If someone had posed the question to me as: “there are 325 million Americans. How many do you think fast food on any given day?” I would have answered 150 million, so 85 sounds pretty reasonable to me.
they have those college students and research agencies funded by government about to close the year with some left over funds ran out of topics so they just pick any topic before the fiscal year close.
Yep, and if they don’t use it up, they lose that amount off their budget for next fiscal year.
God, bless America!
I live in a fairly small university town with only two McDonalds. Every morning, I drive by one of them and see a line at the drive-thru that’s up to 20 cars long…the line wends thru the parking lot and into the street sometimes.
There’s a homeless man who smartly positions himself near the exit hoping for help. They should interview and pay him… He needs the work and the stories HE could tell!
Good for off-shore drilling/oil refineries and of course oil-gas imports!
And for the record, I want to say that the only fast food we eat here is Bojangles maybe once a month and I remove the skin at that. Then again, I always knew I was different.
Thankfully, no Bojangles anywhere near me. All I have close is KFC and I gave up on them even before Keto.
…and that’s 85 million highly potential cardiac arrests that result in instant death, the number one killer of Americans besides medical malpractice and DUI/DWI?
