My workout partner is also a friend, who used to be a student of mine when I taught Public School. I am 19 years his senior, yet functionally, we are accountability partners. He struggles with fasting. His wife isn’t really on board with Low Carbing in any serious capacity. (YET!..)
I got him doing iced coffee with cream and Stevia, and want to get him doing some bouillon cubes and bone broth.
Personally, I make an iced drink…up to 3 times a day, of Apple Cider Vinegar, with one teaspoon each of 100% Cranberry Juice and Lemon juice, Stevia and powedered Ginger for some extra fizz.
It is technically not true fasting with these particular drinks, but he struggles so bad with water only fasts.
So.
(My partial list)
- Coffees (iced and hot) with HWC
- Iced tea (Stevia or other sweetener optional)
- Hot tea with various spices for variety.
- Apple Cider Vinegar drinks
- Bouillon
- Bone Broth
Fasting is like a skill. Or like a muscle, that gets stronger with use. Using a crutch of some kind seems okay to me. YMMV…
