Oh my gosh there was a big platter of fruit today at work and it was so hard to resist. I had one cube of watermelon and one cube of cantaloupe. And I ate six strawberries. I probably threw myself out of keto. It was so hard to resist and it was platters on top of platters and they literally gave them out. At least I didn’t accept it I’m going to move forward LOL. I did have some self-restraint at least I literally had only one watermelon and one cantaloupe which is a vast improvement from before
Fruit at work
You may be surprised. You might not be out of ketosis. That’s a good job, though. I have to avoid the location where the fruit is.
Doesn’t sound like a problem, unless they were HUGE strawberries and HUGE cubes of melon. You’re talking about 6 to 7 net carbs per 4 ounces:
This is a perfect example of the need for KCKO (Keep Calm and Keto On).
Instead of worrying about what is already in the past, learn from it. Don’t give it power over you. Let it empower you.
Too many cliches?
For me that would not be an issue at all. A few cubes of melon and some strawberries is something I would intentionally eat as a side with breakfast, along with my eggs and bacon, if I had those available.
Cantaloupe and honeydew melon are ok in small quantities, as are berries. I don’t care for watermelon so that would be easy to pass up for me.
Congratulations on the self-restraint. My workplace has fresh fruit brought in every monday, and often there is some in the lunchroom until Thursday or Friday. I was tempted when I first started working here, but the fruit has now become a part of the furniture… Most days I don’t even think about it as I pass by to fill up on black coffee. Now, every so often they bring in warm Panera bagels and cream cheese; those are the days when I feel tempted and like I am really sacrificing something. Ha!
Just eat the cream cheese and skip the bagels. Just make sure it’s not the flavored kind.
Well I just did an hour of cardio at the gym and I worked out with weights for 20 minutes so I think I’ll be okay but nevertheless thanks for all the advice
