Fructose Helps Cancer Cells Spread

(Edith) #1

I posted this in the Keto Chat since it is not a scientific paper but regurgitating a scientific paper, but it is interesting nonetheless.

It appears that fructose could be a culprit in how cancer spreads, particularly ovarian. I also found it interesting that the main chemotherapy drug for ovarian cancer causes the cancer cells to go into a state of cellular senescense, a kind of dormancy that is still metabolically active. I guess that’s why it is said people go into remission but are not necessarily cured. Fructose appears to increase the ability of the “dormant” cells to spread.

I know keto is not a cure-all or a prevent-all, but it sure must help improve the odds.

Wonder how taking Senolytics would possibly help that? I hedge my bets and take them every week.

At that level I’d say how could it not!

This was an intensive therapy for glioblastoma:

They survived quite a bit longer than did controls, but it still was only a percentage survival at 3 years. And it was intense - 5 day fasts, OMAD, etc.

I think keto definitely helps, but it still possibly only delays the end result for many cancers.

What’s Senolytics?

In my neighborhood which is small, throw a rock and someone has turbo cancer, albeit we’re getting pretty thinned out.

One of the latest effected has been long time KETO, exercises, takes really good care of himself, early 60’s.
