So how many people trying to stick to a strict keto lifestyle still consume a glass of wine at night?

What do you do when you go out for drinks with friends? Stick with vodka sodas?

I’m genuinely curious.

Usually vodka sodas or a dirty martini. Sometimes a Manhattan with dry vermouth instead of sweet vermouth.

But after a vodka soda or two I don’t want anymore, so it limits my alcohol intake. Which is probably a good thing in the long haul.

Dry red wine, sparkling wines, dirty martinis and yes, vodka soda(club soda) with a splash of real lime juice. I have even kept a jar of Santa Cruz organic lime at a bar I frequented and/or carry TrueLime packets with me so I don’t risk getting Rosie’s or something else with sugar in it.

I like tequila with a slice if lime and as much soda as the glass will take. I keep a salt cellar close by. It changes the whole taste. People think I’m very odd!

Since Keto I lost my taste mostly for booze, but I will enjoy half a beer or inch or two of bourbon or vodka. Its never a setback or puts me over with my macros.

There is some brandy in the back of the cupboard that hasn’t been touched in 2 years, and I drink fizzy water when out.

Amongst the things I miss, alcohol is probably the least of them. :grinning:

When I drink, the weight loss stops. For me it is that easy, and yet, I drink wine. It is a great hobby and we (me and my wife) travel to Italy every year on our wine journeys.

So, I just have to accept that the loss stops for a while if I’m drinking wine. This Easter I had a few glasses every day and it was worth it :slight_smile:

Now I’m getting off the wine for a few weeks just to get the diet going again.

I have been to a funeral today and have had a very liquid wake. Lots of red wine. My halo is choking me. I pulled the filling out of the sandwiches and resisted all of the lovely cakes. I have gone straight to bed so I can’t be tempted to tuck into anything I shouldn’t… Its very hard :roll_eyes:

In the past a few drinks would lead to a binge meal, so I do try to have Keto food along with or waiting for me…

I sometimes bring my own bottle of Bai and ask for a shot of rum in a tall glass. The coconut Bai is my favorite.
