Fist day I’ve been incredibly super hungry

#1

Today marks the beginning of 5 weeks! I haven’t cheated once and I have never been hungry… until today. I’ve been super stressed the last few days/week and this has led to an increase of time spent in gym. Today was particularly stressful and after work I just can’t seem to get enough to eat… I’ve managed to not eat any carbs but I’ve gone over my protein and way over my fat. What gives? I could eat even more but I’m already at 175 grams of fat and 100 grams of protein. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest and I do apologize if this is listed somewhere else

I find that when I know I shouldn’t need any more food, a few shakes of salt or a few bits of rock salt and a tall glass of room temperature water will take away my hunger.

Thanks, Ill try it

The only fat goal is satiety. Of you’re hungry, eat more fat. 5 weeks is awesome, but it’s early enough your body is still in transition. Right now it’s important to eat when you’re hungry.

Sounds like you’re fairly adapted. You can now adjust your macro to feel more satiety. I suggest you give the 60/35/5% macro a try for two weeks. You no longer have to follow an extremely high fat one, which aids initial adaptation.

I love that comment haha😎

I don’t know what got into me but I ended up with 50 grams of carbs eaten… I’m not sweating it though because I’ll bet it doesn’t kick me out of ketosis… I’ll test my blood in the morning. One things for sure, I feel amazing right at this moment.

I just tested my blood for ketones and even with all those carbs last night it is reading 2.2, my lowest ever reading. Does this mean I can eat 58 net carbs a day and stay in ketosis?

Technically, yes. But, IMO it’s not real good to develop a chronic Carb level, as it always seems to creep up for people. A better idea is to eat’em periodically. Some choose to eat’em on the Weekends, some use the guide of “eat carbs at one meal, skip’em for the next two”. The important thing to remember is that if you want to burn body fat your glycogen needs to be low, so carb intake needs to be infrequent and not in massive amounts. Unless you’re going for glycogen recompensation for metabolic purposes. Which occasionally, IMO, is an option and a good idea.

I think I’ll just eat them at that level when my body signals me, like yesterday. Every 4 or 5 weeks. While my body is still not fat adapted at 5 weeks is there ANYTHING I can do to move that along? I keep reading that my ketone levels remain high because my body has yet to burn fat as energy.

Not necessarily. I still test dark purple after nearly 20 years.
