I was very inspired by the KetoFest and want to start pushing out to help others. The first thing is to educate my doctor. This is my first post. I apologize in advance if I make a mistake, like not chasing down FAQs.
My doctor is a nice guy but he is at least 10 years behind in Cholesterol knowledge. When I had my physical he said I was his #1 patient in terms of being responsible for myself. (Hello my name is Greg and I am a counter). I think if I can provide him with current studies printed and links, this could influence hundreds maybe thousands of people. Before I ask here are some data points. Oh, and my goal is to drive my a1c to <5 in 3 months or less. Off all medications
Hba1c <6.1, Triglicerides 66, HDL 54.

Can someone point me to a study or many showing why total cholestrol and LDL are no longer relevant and that the TRI/HDL ratio is a much better predictor?
-
Likewise can someone point to studies why Statins are not so benign or even harmful.
-
point to studies or perhaps blogs like Dr Fung that talk about the mistake it is to manage blood sugar and why we look to manage hormones, primarily insulin/insulin resistance.
Thanks in advance
