I’ve been reading on here for about an hour and I just wanted to say thanks! I’ve been watching YouTube videos about keto for a couple weeks now.
I’m on my second week of keto. I feel great. Immediately my daily heartburn went away. My mood improved and continues to stay positive.
I don’t get as short of breath as easily. Food shopping is so easy and cheaper. I haven’t had fast food or pizza (which was at least every few days). I have no desire for bread, cake, donuts or anything sweet. It’s great. I’m actually wary that I’m not as hungry. I keep thinking I’m supposed to eat. I did all that food prep and I’m not hungry ha ha who knew there was such a thing.
I do need to fine tune the specific ranges of fat vs protein but I know my carbs are low enough. I was in ketosis. How often do y’all check if you’re in ketosis? I have twice this week. Do you only check if you feel different?
Looking forward to reading and learning more about everyone’s experiences and thanks for reading and being here!

Ok I will get the hang of this site … I should have posted sorry here… Not created another topic … Maybe admin can fix my ops…
HI and welcome…
Re ketosis testing I usually try every few days using blood strips unless I’m trying something new then o it every day. What are you using?
I don’t check regularly anymore, but I use a NovaMax to test blood ketones and recently purchased a Precision Xtra that does the same thing.
Nice to have you here and KCKO!
They are known to be a bit unreliable as after a time your body uses the ketones that are excreted in your urine so if it stops showing you are in ketosis you may well still be in ketosis but the stick won’t show it…
I’m sure if you search for “pee sticks” you’ll find lots of info…
I checked at first with the urine strips, every so often. I don’t anymore, after the advice about pee sticks not being the best way. I just stick to macros, and assume I am still I have been a bit over 4 months with this. I could of written your exact post after my first few weeks! I never felt better, and yes, that daily heartburn is a thing of the past. I don’t have right sided liver/gallbladder pain any longer, either. I’m also 20lbs down but that really is just an incredible bonus. Welcome!
