Fireball whisky question

(Chris) #1

I normally keep well away from alcohol since being on the keto lifestyle, except maybe for the odd Big Head no carb beer. But I have been given a bottle of Fireball whiskey which is a cinnamon flavoured whiskey. It tastes very sweet and despite looking up the ingredients I can get a diffinitive answer as to whether this has “sneaky sugar” or if the glycol is classes as a carb. It tastes amazing but don’t know if I am going damage to my progress by drinking other than the obvious effects of alcohol. Any one with any experience of this?

I understand any of the flavoured whiskeys (Honey, cinnamon etc) have sugar in them. They’re basically a liqueur. Happy to be corrected however.

Here’s an interesting article. Fireball has 11g sugar per serve!

OUCH! They’re even ruining whiskey with sugar now?? So sad. :cry:

@BigTrev You are CORRECT!

You would not want to drink the whiskey in Fireball without the added sugar. Not the highest quality stuff there.

Ah! So they “fixed” an inferior product by adding sugar & spice so it would be sellable. Makes sense. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

And easy to chug. It’s dangerous stuff. We banned it from parties well before i became keto. It’ makes people stupid :slight_smile:

I’ve never tried it, but I like the name. It sounds ‘earthy’. :sunglasses:

When fireball gets really cold it’s like cough syrup, to me that was always a good indication of the probable sugar content. That and the subsequent headache if you had more than 2-3 shots.

Like redhots candy? This is the liquid form of that…with booze.

Oh no!!! Ok probably knocked well out of ketosis then, better knuckle back down to the staples
