Finally not hungry - don't make my mistake

#1

FINALLY, finally…my hunger has gone. I’ve been in ketosis for over 3 months and could not even skip one meal this whole time save one day I skipped lunch because I wasn’t hungry.
The trick? I got myself a heart rate monitor and did not exceed the Maffletone Method (Mark Sisson recommends) of 180-age heart rate while working out. It’s very very mild. I had a strong feeling my high intensity workouts were eliciting a cortisol-insulin response, and when I stopped, after about a week, my hunger finnnnaaaalllly is under control.

It’s 3pm where I live and I had a nice, fatty breakfast at 9am. Zero hunger for 6 hours during the day has never happened in my whole life. I’m going to go to yoga now with friends and won’t be home til 6:30 and am totally fine. This is amazing! I am so glad I never gave up. I was definitely doing myself no favors in the gym there. Don’t be me

I flirted with HIIT style cardio exercise starting out in Febuary and decided it’s not for me for now. I feel better doing 20-30 minute lower intensity sessions meaning HR at 70-75% of age adjusted rate. May be I’ll change my view in the future sometime.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who does better with gentle workouts

Very interesting. For years, I’ve usually done cardio with my heart rate quite high for my age (according to the usual charts and calculation methods), and did so quite easily. I’m not sure whether this means I was out of shape or what.

Now I often say “I’m happy if it’s over 100.” I’m 66, and 180 minus 66 is 114.

Thank you for the information. I’ll check it out some more. So far most of what I’m finding is directed at runners; I’m not a runner.
