Feeling sooooo Sleepy!

(Tushar Arora) #1

Hi all, I am a newbie.
Today I start my 3rd week of keto. lately i.e since the past 3 days I have been feeling sleepy. Now I am a person who takes a good 7 hour sleep every night but this being a weekend i slept for 9 hours and after being awake for about 4 hours now i again feel like i could use a nap.
What can i do for this ?
Also if someone could check my stats and tell me if i am going alright or not, would be really helpful

Are you good to go on all your electrolytes? Before going keto, I was plagued with excessive fatigue. Blood work revealed that I was low in Vitamin D and Vitamin B12.

I went through that as well. I had to go to bed for an hour or two in the afternoon. It passed though, and lots more energy is waiting on the other side.

As already mentioned, make sure you’re having electrolytes

1st of all, thank you all for your reply.
To begin with I am a vegetarian. So my diet pretty much consists of cheese, eggs (In coconut oil), peanut butter and about 500 gm of green veggies (Mostly baked in olive oil). I think the only thing I am deficient in atm is magnesium. So i plan on including that.

It helps with sleep, so good place to start.

Good on you for going keto and being vegetarian. It is a challenge but can be done. The Atkins web site has some good meal plans for that, if you haven’t checked there you might want to check it out. They do recommend at least 40 net carbs, so not super strict Keto, more of LCHF. You might want to add avocados to your list of commonly eaten foods.
