Feeling Guilty

(Tisha Jolene Eby) #1

I almost caved and had some French toast with my family this morning. I wasn’t even feeling physically hungry, but as soon as I smelled the syrup my mind went crazy.

Instead I devoured an entire bag of pork rinds in less than 10 minutes.

My day just started and I’m already 700 calories in…

I’m just feeling guilty and hoping for some support

You had pork rinds and avoided French toast. What’s wrong with that? The 700 calories is only an issue if you’re focused on calories… so don’t count them.

No need to feel guilty. You just managed to avoid temptation and replace the french toast with something low carb. You should pat yourself on the back and then make a plan for the next time.@Baytowvin is right, calories only matter if you believe CICO. Focus on feeding your body well for the rest of the day. You got this!!

Congrats on passing the temptation! That can be rough. Especially when family pressure is there.

The big question is, what did you have on your pork rinds?!?

I will often make a sour cream and garlic dip. Sometimes a small bowl of ACV to dip them in. If I’m really feeling the urge, i’ll Chop up a bunch of pickled jalapeños, some chopped olives, mix them in ACV, and have a salsa of sorts with them. Yep, it’s got a couple of carbs there. But c’mon, pickled jalapeños! :cowboy_hat_face:

Right. The calories. I stopped counting carbs them. Every once in a blue moon I’ll add them up just to see what’s going on there. For the most part I’m eating over 3,000 cals per day. But I’m holding at 190 pounds for the past six months or so. Which is a total loss of 55 pounds since a year ago.

Just gotta remember, it’s not the total calories, it’s where they come from. 2,000 calories a day from fat won’t make you fat. You might not lose weight, but most likely won’t make you fat. But 2,000 calories of carbs?!? That will make you put on lots of fat, give you diabetes and heart disease.

Should have made some Egg Loaf. To me, it tastes just like French toast.

What?? WTF who mentioned calories again!!!?? Pork rinds!!!

 I have 3 packs of Pork Rinds that I bought 23 weeks ago just in case of emergencies, I haven’t needed them!! Go ahead eat those Pork Rinds up!! Just slow it down a bit though, no need to set the Guiness Book of Records for pork rinds, take your time and savor those lovely calories!!!

If you must insist on falling off the wagon do it in style and eat one of these keto-friendly cheese cakes. See Digital Dave’s recipe for Keto cheese cake, its awesome. Mine has low sugar (387 kcal per slice) because I don’t like artificial sweetener. I eat this if I want to slooow down the weight-loss.

Something else we agree on :rofl::rofl:

Well, that was interesting to read (and I’ll explain why).

Had breakfast with a mate I worked with many years ago on the other side of the country, as he was here to shoot yesterday’s AFL Grand Final (think Superbowl).

I was IF so didn’t eat, and he had a beautiful french toast (I stole this image off his IG).

Mid-afternoon, I realised that while I had appreciated the plating and presentation, I hadn’t even thought about eating it, wanting one, and so on. And that was after skipping dinner last night.
