Fats

I am finding that everyday I am a little short on my fat intake goal. Any ideas of something I can add to my diet for extra fat intake?

I’m enjoying melted butter on just about any protein (tonight it was grilled pork chops dusted in coconut flour and seasoning). And I don’t avoid the fat on cuts of meat anymore. I actually like it now.

Its not a goal, you don’t have to reach it.

Cream cheese on a piece of 90% dark chocolate (tally carbs).

How much fat depends on what your goal is. If you are fat (as I am) and want to lose weight, after a person becomes fat adapted (burning fat as fuel instead of carbs) some advise eating less fat in order to live off your own body fat to lose pounds.

But if you are already lean, you may want to make sure you eat enough fat since your body really can’t supply enough.

I initially found I replaced counting calories with counting macros. I personally stopped counting once I learned what my meals needed to look like. If there is something I havnt eated on keto yet I always check to see if there is anything sneaky going on (I’m looking at you yogurt butter and your corn syrup!) Now if something goes untoward I can easily go back to analyze what my macros are but as long as Im in ketosis and Im getting the body composition results I want I choose to make my life easier and just eat.

I totally enjoy coffee with butter and MCT oil and cream and collagen and spices and salt. It’s delicious. Also something similar with earl gray tea and vanilla, but not the salt and other spices.
