Fatigue after meals even though in ketosis and fat adapted

#1

Why am I so doggone tired after a meal? Been in ketosis for 6 mos. My macros are right, I’m eating one to 2 meals a day. Using lots of salt and taking mag and potassium. I can’t figure out what’s going on. Any ideas?

Sound like vitamin deficiency. You might get a test run to check.

What kind of tests?

Something like this. You could ask your doctor about it. There is quite a bit on line as well as self tests you can order online too.

Could also be just Spring related - lots of pollen and dust in the windy spring air in many northern hemisphere locations, on top of any usual urban air pollution one might dealing with. And after a meal, the body diverts energy into digestion and away from coping/managing with sinus irritation, dry/itchy eyes, etc, making the impact of allergens more obvious.

Personally lately I’ve been feeling fatigue or oddness, esp in the morning and also after meals - and others in my locale are reporting the same. There were many windy days recently that sent the allergen states sky high with a combo of pollens and dust.

Fat adaptation and ketosis give us new superpowers - compared to plenty of folks my allergy symptoms are minimal, but we still navigate weird symptoms related to allergen overload. I’m taking about 3 grams of Ginger daily, which is a potent anti-inflammatory help for allergic reactions - foods high in quercetin are also helpful, or a quercetin supplement.

This too shall pass! :wilted_flower: :herb:
