ive been on keto now 5 weeks and gone from 378 to 333lbs but the only place im noticing fat loss is my legs not my belly or arms where`d id like.
Is this common or just completely random
Fat loss areas
Yeah it’s pretty common for men to lose weight everywhere but their trunk. Women have the same problem but in almost the opposite areas.
If you just keep losing it’ll start to come off everywhere else too.
I am finding this a fascinating journey. I’ve been eating keto for 9 weeks. I’m down 10 lbs but had lost 5 lbs prior. I have 15 lbs to go to goal weight. I lost it in my upper thighs first which was the last place I gained it. They started rubbing together, a new experience for me and VERY uncomfortable. Then my upper body slimmed down…then I noticed my hands and feet. My shoes were no longer tight and I could wear rings I had not worn in a few years! Tonight I crossed my hands together and they felt skinny…a bizarre feeling.
I had gained 30 lbs over 30 years so it was very gradual and clearly I wasn’t noticing the changes. The belly will be the last to go and it was the first to come…the thickening around the waist, ugh.
So to answer your question: I’d say it’s common and like with most things every one will lose the weight differently.
Welcome to the keto WOE. I wish you much success in your journey!!
For me the belly was the last place I lost fat. In fact 2 years later I still have a little belly though nothing like it wa 150lbs heavier. My legs actually look pretty awesome, perhaps from all the walking/ running and much of the time at a much heavier weight.
I’ve only been Ketoing about 2 months, and lost about 6 lbs. I have noticed it on my sides and back. Not exactly where I was hoping, but I guess there was fat there too.
My experience, and others here have said the same, is that the fat seems to be leaving in reverse order of arrival. The good news is that even though my weight has been stable for quite some time, I am still losing fat. I notice far more definition in my upper torso, my legs have thinned out again, and my face could almost be considered gaunt (especially compared to when I was at my heaviest, lol!). I also notice that instead of being a hard pad of fat, my belly is quite jiggly, and I can really “pinch an inch” with ease. So even with the belly that remains, I don’t look quite so overstuffed as I did, which is something to cling to.
The other thing I cling to is that my real reason for starting keto was to get my pre-diabetes under control, and that has happened. It’s just that I have fallen in love with wearing clothes that I couldn’t even get into last year, much less fasten the buttons!!
well done, i know im gonna have blips the next few weeks as im going back to uk to see family and theres certain foods i wouldnt miss for anything but on my return il be hitting it hard again.
i also noticed my belly is more jiggly as you put it.
i currently cant see my face because of my massive beard lol
unfortunately you cant pick and choose where the weight comes off the body. fat comes off the body the same way bath water goes down when you remove a cup of water.
keep going though. it will come off
