I’ve been having OMAD and it’s been working output pretty well in terms of energy levels and hunger, but I’m losing sooo slowly. My husband, the lazy keto guy, has a fatty coffe in the morning, lunch, snacks, and supper and the lbs are dropping off. I was avoiding the fatty coffee bc I didn’t want to break my fast, but now I’m wondering if a more is better approach is actually better…any advice?
Fat in my coffee?
Try it and see if it works for you or not, that’s all you can do. Annoyingly men do tend to lose more easily as they don’t have the same hormonal ups and down we have.
My wife thinks she eats enough, but I think she is calorie restricting and it seems to slow her progress. So when you eat make sure you eat and I think the fasting will have greater results. This is a big “think”, only a theory.
And keep in mind (even as hard as it is not to): it’s neither wise nor accurate to compare your weightloss to his for a multitude of reasons.
Additionally men have a higher %, of muscle. With some movement they will lose faster, but come the next famine, we’re the big winners.
Very true after a woman told me there was no way she was as a big as me! Ah, but she was a whole 12 inches taller! Ruined her day LMAO
Keep in mind, that men and women generally lose weight differently due to a variety of conditions including hormones. I have read and heard from many people that men tend to lose a greater amount of weight upfront, then their weight loss starts to slow down. Women on the other hand tend to lose at a slower pace, but lose weight over a longer amount of time. My wife and I had this same experience happen to us, I lost a lot up front, and she continued to lose slowly over a longer period of time. Maybe some of the ladies here can comment on this.
Regardless, do not compare your weight loss with the “lazy keto guy”, everybody is different and we all lose weight at different rates. Rather compare yourself with yourself, I know this of sounds like a moronic statement, but your body will undergo a systemic change on keto and you should focus primarily on your own results. Rather than weight, focus on clothes size and measurements. As you develop more lean muscle to replace the fat, you may seem like you are losing very little weight, but you are vastly improving your overall health.
Yes, as a spouse, it is sometimes fun to say “nah nah nah, I lost more weight than you this week” (that is my wife taunting me), but I am lifting weights and riding my bike gaining lean muscle mass so I just respond to her with a “whatever”. If your energy levels are good, and you are not hungry, my suggestion is to stay the course for now, and keep in mind that you and your husband are two genetically similar, but different people.
