With the Covid-19 stay at home order it seemed like a good time to sign up for a free 1 month trial of netflix. My wife and I started watching a documentary series Tiger King. I’ve seen some fat house cats but assumed it was probably due to cheap chow with too many non-meat filler ingredients. Was kind of shocked to see some very chubby lions and tigers in some of the private zoos featured in these videos and supposedly they are only eating meat.

Don’t count on it. The commercial chow for the big cats contains a lot of carbohydrate.
Plus there is a lot of sentiment to have every creature eat vegan, even when it’s not healthy for them.

The staff at a zoo with some fat cats talked about only feeding them meat, mostly expired meat from grocery stores which they got for free.

who are we kidding here. caged life. and just fed meat? Nope, they are fed supps and other crap and more. Don’t fall for this ‘they are treated like the wild’ BS here, it is SO an unnatural life for htem… like there is any normal comparison or any type of real science here?

I find it really sad to see that so much dog mess looks like Weetabix… I’m not a dog owner (if I were I hope I would be more diligent about the mess than my neighbours seem to be, for one thing) but I guess a lot of commercial pet food has a high cereal content. It’s a shame for the animals.

Yep. You can always spot when a dog is fed cereal based crap, or artificially coloured crap. My dog has neither, but I can easy see the difference when he has stolen the chicken food…

nothing altered by human hands is real as if nothing ever touched it to me. nature is nature, raw…not much of that left anywhere on the planet.
