Hey guys. Does anyone here IF and have their eating window earlier in the day and fast in the evening? I was thinking of having my eating window from 8am-Noon and fasting for the rest of the day, but I always see people skipping breakfast. Is there a reason for it or is it really preferential?
Fasting in the Evening vs Morning
Yes! I eat 6am to noon or 1 pm. Keeping 73 pounds off for 5 years now after 40 years of morbid obesity and yoyo dieting.
I had 8-10 lbs regained unintentionaly last year. Dropped them after switching to an early restricted eating window. Eating later in the day piles on my subcutaneous fat.
Awesome thanks! I’m excited to try it out. I don’t think my body responds well to eating late and it’s much easier to fast at home where social eating isn’t an issue.
I only eat breakfast most days. If I’m really hungry, I’ll occasionally eat a little something in the afternoon. But I really avoid evening meals. I feel so much better this way.
Okay great, I’m glad other people are doing this and enjoy this pattern more. I haven’t been feeling well eating at night and my body doesn’t respond well to it.
I use an evening window mostly to accommodate social things that involve food or beverages. I’m thinking about dabbling in Longo’s schedule of eating breakfast then having meal #2 8 hours later.
@carl has stated that an IF schedule that centers around lunch, seems to work better for him than dinner. Of course the only way you’ll truly know is to try it out.
I’m really a breakfast person myself. I think a breakfast schedule would likely be more effective for me, but to accommodate eating with my family, I eat in the evenings. Sometimes you adjust to make practices more sustainable.
