Hey guys. So, I’ve been on strict low-carb for a little over 3 months now. I’m 26, 6’ 0”, 148 lbs, down from 172 lbs when I started, so I’ve loved the results. I’ve only had 2 cheats since starting. One was my bachelor party a couple months ago, and the other was my fiancé and I’s wedding shower this past Saturday. I had a few chips with salsa, an ice cream cone, and a fairly large piece of cake. After the cake/ice cream, the highest my blood glucose got was 126 at 1-hour before coming back down. However, my fasting blood glucose while on low-carb has been fairly consistently in the 70s-80s. But, my fasting glucose has been in the mid to upper 90s for the past 2 days since the cheat day. Is this normal after a cheat day or should I be concerned?

Really, only 120? That’s impressive. Mine will hit 180 +. I can’t help with the blood sugar after, as I typically have blood sugar over 100 most of the day while keto, going down all day from about noon… My blood sugar is usually lower the day or so after eating carbs.

Your numbers all seem to jive with normal non-diabetic reactions/levels. Fasting under 100 is considered normal.
My fasting level is usually around 120, and I’m still not worried because although it seems high, it’s consistent.

I have been pretty strict Keto for six months. My fasting glucose is 110, and after a meal 140. You are doing great.
