Shocked this morning to have a reading of 178,I waited 5 minutes and tried again and it was 142. What???

I can only say one thing about glucose monitoring…take many readings over an extended period of time.

That’s within the margin of error allowed by the FDA, which state:

  • +/- 15% accuracy for 95% of results
  • +/- 20% accuracy for 99% of results

Which is, of course, frustrating for those of us trying to maintain tight control over our blood glucose.
