Fasted athletes: routine?

(Bean) #1

I mostly eat OMAD in the evening. I work out 3-4 days a week in the morning. It’s never been a problem. I’ve slowly increased intensity, duration, etc. Feeling off today, so I suspect I might need to add a refuel. Protein powders make me nauseous. I don’t have time to eat after my work out and eating lunch at work annoys me.

For those of you who workout fasted, what’s your routine? Any thoughts?

You work out in the morning and eat in the evening? That’s impressive.

I find that skipping “lunch” (for me, this means only eating a dinner) helps. I get more work done.

Can you eat a bar, something like the carnivore bar:

I’ve had those, and really like them. They are expensive though.

What about these?

I’ve not had these ones, but wouldn’t mind trying them. Also, quite expensive.

Edit: I work out around 5:30-7am, eat at about 10-10:30am. If I eat OMAD, I don’t exercise in the morning. I get too hungry. (At one time, I could exercise multiple times WHILE fasting 4.5+ days; haven’t been able to do that in a long time.)

I guess I don’t think about it. I feel better fasted usually. I’m a professor so my work day goes quickly.

Honestly until I upped my workout this week, I have been less hungry during the day on my workout days.
