Family party out of keto

So I went to a family party last night and I failed a little and definitely over did my carbs something I haven’t done for months now but I prob had 100+ carbs due to everything being breaded.
I’m know it’s prob put me out of keto but if I continue to follow keto today and so on will I gain weight if I still eat high fat why not in keto
First time I’ve done this so unsure what to do

You should be fine if you jump right back into it. The only word of caution I’d give you is that this could trigger carb cravings again. It does for me if I cheat.

You will probably have some weight gain that’s water weight. This will drop quickly if you immediately resume eating ketogenically and as you burn off the glycogen stores you filled up when you ate the surplus carbs.

Just get back on track and don’t stress yourself about it.

I’ve decided there will be a few occasions a year where the rules get bent. One will be Christmas dinner with the family. I’ll try everything but just minimal amounts of the carb items. I’ll also participate in a few of the key meals during the annual vactions with siblings. Down the road if it turns out I can eat more carbs without pressure on blood sugar then may be there will be a few more exceptions.

:policeman:So very sorry to hear about your massive carb intake. It can almost be taken for granted, and expected, that most parties will have loads and loads of “high carb treats” that will put you to the test. You could always eat a lot of keto friendly food before the next event, and just stuff yourself to the max ahead of time.
