Fallen off today

Hi everyone, I have done so well last 7 weeks I have fallen off wagon today and had a big carb meal! Also been on a 10 mile walk feel so ashamed. How long will it take to get back into Ketosis xx

Hi Jill, please don’t beat yourself up. I’ve found it only takes about 2 days to get back into ketosis after a big carb meal or even extended periods of higher-carb eating like I did during the holidays. Of course, you can speed the process by fasting or fat fasting. Recently, two friends joined me in keto, and it has helped my will power a ton. I see one of them practically every day, and we talk about everything from the science behind ketosis to delicious fat bombs and even cheat days. Support is key!

Whoops meant to reply to you in my other post.

One more thing: I actually find that “cheat” meals help me get over the cravings and move forward with focus. Many will disagree and say cheat meals are not beneficial, but I find it helps me put the thought of carbing out behind me.

Be kinder to yourself, it’s just a small blip not a major issue, just get back on the keto horse and maybe fast if that’s something you do.

You will do fine…just keep at keeping at it. You will find yourself back where you were in no time at all!

Progress, not perfection.

And always be kind to yourself. Being angry or ashamed about something relatively trivial like a carby meal won’t help you in the long-run. Replace that with being mindful of what you are doing.

I’m glad I cam across this post. I just got back from a 5 day vacation with the family. Ive been living a keto life now for approx 2 months, lost 21 pounds. I did well on vacation until…there was ice cream. Itvwas a family time sonic allowed myself yo have a small serving. There were a few other treats throughout the week. I have been feeling guilty and angry at myself for giving in to temptation. I’m hoping getting back on the horse and doing some IF will get me back to where I was.
