Explain blood sugar crashes, please?

Cool : )

And the hypo part of Dumping Syndrome is NOT necessarily related to Diabetes.

It’s just a huge insulin reaction from all that undigested food being dumped into the gut.

I think you ladies have discovered another VERY interesting topic for @richard & @carl to think about for a podcast! I’m definitely watching this topic. :+1:

Yes, I was meaning to add the Keto-positive news that apparently “adding fat to your diet” can help with Dumping Syndrome, because fat slows digestion and hence slows dumping

Hahahaha, I’m NOT letting myself be interviewed about my diarrhea for a podcast…!!
@Sue777 … how bout you?? :joy:

Ummmmmmm… yeah, I think I’ll pass on that one.

That absolutely makes sense because a) diarrhea dehydrates and b) the intestines suddenly have stuff to deal with that they don’t usually “see.” Maybe “keto aide” would help recovery time after a dumping episode.

Yup, while I’m not a “fan” of supplements, I do think that electrolytes after a Dumping Syndrome episode could be truly helpful.

I had an episode yesterday and drank some ketoaide.

I can’t really say if it helped, because the severity of the DS episodes varies so greatly (so it’s hard to know was this just a mild episode or did ketoaide help to keep it mild), but I think I will have one glass of ketoaide with DS episodes in future as a general treatment to help stabilise things.
