Exogenous Ketones Personal Experiment

(jilliangordona) #1

Hi all!

I know the general thoughts on exogenous ketones among our clan are negative. However, I am an avid fan of Dom D’Agostino and am curious about the efficacy of his beliefs on exogenous ketones for workouts and mental clarity. I am a high school teacher who sponsors a club that requires daily and weekend work who is also in grad school… so exhaustion is pretty real for me. In addition, I lift about 4 times per week.

There are two things I would like to monitor here:

  1. Use of exogenous ketones as a source of mental clarity after a long day of teaching.
  2. Exogenous ketones as a pre workout.

I’ve been journaling my days in relation to these things over the last month. I’d like to test this both while feasting and fasting as well to see if there is a difference.

I purchased Perfect Keto Chocolate Sea Salt simply because I had a discount code.

I will post updates as I try it out, as I know some of us are curious. I will admit I am biased because I really do want this to work… so we will see what happens!

Good luck, I’m interested.

As an avid beer drinker, I’d like to get back into ketosis quicker, I’m wondering if exogenous is the ticket…

This will be my next phase of experimentation… I just don’t have anything to measure ketones since that’s never been a big priority to me… I guess you could call me lazy keto.
