Exhausted most of the time

Rough nites too
I’m 69 and when my health came crashing down after Christmas this year with severe joint pain, inflammation all over. 60 or more pounds overweight, probably diabetes and minimal kidney function, I hoped on the plan then read about fasting a couple of weeks later so on Feb 10 I started a fast and am now a couple days short of 4 weeks and I’m going to BREAK fast March 10. Initially planned a 10 day fast which grew ino a couple of weeks and then I decided to let my body tell me when to stop. I’m in much better shape now down those 60 pounds, almost joint pain free but I’m weak and exhausted all the time so going to stop the fast Saturday

That’s a very enthusiatic beginning! Having said that it sounds like you may have stepped in too deep - hence the exhaustion. The conservative advice is not to fast more than 14days without medical supervision (Dr. J. Fung). Obviously you went further - but at this stage would suggest you listen to your body, stop the fast and move into ketogenic eating. When you break your fast - go SLOW with small portions, to avoid refeeding syndrome. Then give your body a generous amount of time to adapt before embarking on another fast. Be warned, when you begin to eat again, you will likely regain a few pounds but try not to freak out. This is normal.
Keto/fasting lifestyle is a marathon not a sprint.

Congratulations on a life altering commitment and results!

Think about recovering from surgery, start with small and easier to digest foods.

Again, congratulations and thanks for sharing an amazing story.

Hi
I woke up at 1am today, just sick with worry and I felt wasted so it was obvious my body was trying to get through to my feeble mind with the message that something was not as it should be so then and there deided to end it. Went downstairs and ate a tablespoon of almond butter which instantly made the worry subside and brought a long missing smile to my lips and I knew it was going to be alright. Slept well after tht and around 10am had a larger tablespoon of almond butter (yum). about 2pm was shopping for some grub at the supermarket and noticed they had baked slices of sweet potato at the take out so I’ve been munching on a small order for the past couple of hours (double yum) and thanks for the feedback . no tummy issues so far
