Everyone at work is like 'I joined Slimming World again', 'I put on SO much weight over Xmas', and eating dry Ryvitas

And I’m sitting at my desk nomming on sliced cheese topped with full fat Philadelphia, with a cup of coffee with double cream in :joy::joy::joy:

After losing two pounds of fat over Xmas, with no starving and no particular exercise.

I feel so sorry for them!!

They were starting up a January weighloss sweep - whoever loses the most between now and the 31st gets the pot. I almost joined up, but it would have been like taking candy from a baby.

(I don’t normally gloat this much, but by goodness I’m feeling super smug right now!!!)

Ryvitas, that takes me back to my teenage years. O so healthy for you. LOL. You have every right to feel smug.

It’s the same here! I’ve brought some brie in just in case I feel like lunch (rarity but does sometimes happen) and Manager is looking longing at it in the fridge then scraping about an atom’s worth of low fat Philadelphia over a ryvita.

Smug zone allowed I think

I’d join in the contest and do an EF for 2 weeks. But I am a dick.

I’ve enjoyed hearing resolutions to lose weight, get in shape etc. My quip has been that I completed my resolution in December. :sunglasses: Fun, fun!

I haven’t done one yet… tempting, and scary at the same time :joy:

'Tis the season.

I am SO supporting my coworkers. They are all listening to what is working for me. Losing over the holidays is unheard of! Baby steps. Go, coworkers! I’m cheering you on!

I gave my receptionist my protein drink to sub for her full leaded coke.
Our secretary watched me have a cloud Sammie with interest in the recipe.
Our principle liked the thought of adding seltzer to her wine for a smaller pour, and stretching it. K

My first came naturally. I ate a large smoked brisket at a company function at noon and never ate again that day. I thought upon going to sleep- Hey I’ll be 19 hrs into one when I wake up, lets go to 24 which turned into 46.

My longest currently is 6 days. I am on day 2 of a planned 10 day fast. the point is that if you are fat adapted it really does come quite naturally. ALthough I will admit that not eating for a week at a time is not really natural.

I did 24 hours ‘accidentally’ a couple of months ago, I ate too much cauliflower cheese and didn’t get hungry again until 23ish hours later… I liked it! I loved listening to my body, and its hunger cues

I have thought about trying one again, but I’ve been listening for the cues, and haven’t had them again yet. Not sure if I should ‘force’ the issue and just start one, or wait until I feel it’s time.

I love getting them to try my stuff… the thing that went down best was the chocolate mousse made with hard boiled eggs!!

They listen, and ask questions, like they’re really actually interested, but nobody has the courage to actually try it, even though they can see how easy I find it to live this way, and how much healthier I am!

One is fatphobic (will only eat sugar heavy fat free foods), one is addicted to bread (even though she’d not think about it once she’s in ketosis!), one is a weird one who only eats porridge (honestly, he only eats porridge), and two are on protein shakes and training programmes.

Really @Tracey I have found it to be more of a mental issue than physical. Today I had to load parts in a CNC about 20lbs each as an operator called in sick. Never became an issue. Now when I leave, won’t be hungry. On the road, no hunger but walk into my house and I REALLY want to grab a handful of macadamias.

What I have found is fasting clears up so much of my own narrative about what I should do and has allowed me to be a witness to my own journey and it is one in which I am steering not my environment.

Thanks Mark, I love the way you worded that

This is gonna sound braggy and I’m hearing the same stuff. I stayed incredibly strict through the Holidays because of my surgery recovery (finger tendons reattached). I wanted to avoid as much dietary inflammation as possible and that idea alone was enough inspiration to stay the course.

I did cheat on Christmas Eve though. Ate a few bites of glazed ham.
