End of Week 8

#1

I have finally made it through Week 8! I have lost 24 lbs, lost inches everywhere, reduced my glipizide dose by half, and cut my Lantus from 60 units/day to 20 units/day. I have also stopped taking one of my HTN meds. My clothes are fitting more loosely, I have more energy overall and am more physically active.

And after 8 months of unemployment, I have a new job that I started this week. I believe that going keto changed my energy level in my voice so when I did several phone interviews, that increased energy was transmitted to the people I was talking to.

My new job provides a free lunch and I have been able to find things that work for keto. Also, I am taking public transportation and am doing a lot more walking and stairs.

Huge thanks to everyone on this board for all the encouragement and support I have received. :kissing_heart:
As you all reach your goals, know that they motivate me to stay the course.

All of the positive changes I am experiencing just reinforces that I am doing the right thing, and I am definitely continuing on this keto journey! KCKO

You sound like you are doing well, Ann.
Though I think you should take personal responsibility for getting that job, not just Keto.

You are definitely on the right track, do you know if you are fat adapted yet?
Generally you can tell as your hunger rapidly decreases and you are able to fast for longer periods of time.

I say keto helped me get the job. According to my sisters, my voice pre-keto was flat and low energy. They noticed a big difference after I started keto. I definitely had the skill set to get the job, but the flat affect was very off-putting to interviewers. the job I am currently working was the first job I interviewed for AFTER starting keto. I was about 4 weeks in at that time. So, I think that going keto helped me get the job!

Either way, you now have a job and you’re on your way to a happier and healthier lifestyle. Well done
