GOOD MORNING!!
I have just been doing Keto for maybe 2 weeks, & occasionally at the end of the day I stil have 20-30g if fat to still take in. I add ghee to my meat, drink Bulletproof coffee in the mornings, & have snacks like cashews & bacon etc… Is it better for Ketosis to try and squeeze them in at the end of the day, or just let it go? Thanks in advance for the info!!
End of day fat intake
There seems to be a misconception that ketosis is from eating fat. It’s actually from limiting carbs so your body creates ketones. If you aren’t hungry, no need to add more fat.
cashews are a dried fruit - not a nut - and are super high in carbs…27 gm/100 gm serving
by way of comparison, 100gm of cooked spaghetti is 29gm
as for goals
carbs are a limit
Protein is a goal - but has a wide margin and missing either high or low for a day does not matter.
Fat is to be the source of all your caloric energy for the day. There should really be no goal, other than to not under eat because your brain is telling you the STUPID CICO mantras
“OH NO, we are eating too many calories, we will get FAT, stop eating and suffer some hunger, no pain, no gain (loss )”
So eat fat to satiety. when you reach that, you’re good. If your metabolism is shot from years of calorie restriction, and you are trying to raise it by consuming a skosh more than you want, that is different.
Beginning Keto: dont calorie restrict, eat to satiety, watch those pesky CARBS hiding everywhere…
oh Yeah - salt, salt, and more salt - then water - lather, rinse, repeat!
