Well, I find it amusing that there are still folks out there that bad mouth low carb living.
I started doing the WOE 2007 and haven’t died yet. They also bad mouth GF, but I have no choice I have Celiac Diseased I consider gluten poison.
I am also, converting a lot of people to this life and they are happier because they lose weight and are not hungry all the time. I don’t push it but just show them my lifestyle and eventually, they join.
My labs showed an increase in LDL and my doc immediately wanted to Statin-Me. Of course I said no. I don’t have any risk factors and I’m generally opposed to taking a drug that blocks a native pathway in my body.
BTW, I’m a doctor and my doc couldn’t argue with me. Since we first met she has gained at least 30 pounds eating SAD and I have maintained my trim body eating meat and eggs and a few veg. So, I ignore all the crap and just go on my merry way.
Love the forum.
Eleven years of VLC/keto
Love how your dr. gained while you maintained.
We have a maintenance thread, would love to see you posting over there. You have been successful for a very long time, I’m sure you have some tips for others.
Thanks for reminding us that this is a lifetime way of eating, not just “till I lose this weight.”
I think down deep, most people are not quite willing to give up sugar forever. When we grow up being given candy for being good, it’s a difficult switch to make.
Thank you for being a wonderful example of how to live a Keto life. I look forward to seeing you post here.
I don’t know how you can be so sure, given that we all know tha tthe ketogenic diet is unsustainable and will kill us. Perhaps you are a secret-carb-eating zombie, and just don’t know it?
Seriously, though, eleven years keto is a great achievement. Thanks for posting.
Yes!! That must have been fun!
I used to be on low carb friends forum and zerocarb forum, but life gets in my way sometimes!
I’ll have to look for the maintainer’s thread.
