Eggbeaters versus eggs? And…if eggs only what is the recommended allowance per day?

I don’t understand your first question…
And eggs don’t have everything you need.
Short term “eggs only”? As many as you need/want/can… There are no such things or allowance, at least I don’t know such “egg fasts”.

Where this eggs only craziness came from?

And you hardly find a bigger egg lover here than me…

Egg Beaters consists of whites only, so far as I understand. But on a keto diet, we don’t fear yolks.

Firstly, the fats in egg yolks are mostly saturated and monounsaturated, which are healthier than polyunsaturates. The latter cause inflammation when overeaten. Secondly, egg yolks contain cholesterol, and even the researcher who (wrongly) claimed that saturated fat caused coronary heart disease understood from his research that cholesterol in the diet has no effect on the level of cholesterol in the blood. The saturated fat-heart disease connexion has never been proved, but the lack of effect of dietary cholesterol on serum cholesterol is well established.

So eat as many eggs as you want. They’re good for you.

Great thank you

I would say you can eat as many real eggs a day as you like. But I wouldn’t limit my diet to eggs only, although I doubt that is what you asked. I tend to eat 6 large eggs nearly every day.

I use Eggbeaters all the time, both the whole and the whites, no real minumum.

Quote from the Egg Beaters website [my emphasis]:

“Eggs just might be one of the oldest “superfoods” in the book—these little nutritional powerhouses are rich in protein, vitamins, and minerals. So we always start with the real thing—farm-fresh, all-natural eggs—but we remove the fat and cholesterol, so you can feel good about using them as a wholesome ingredient in every meal of the day.”

Therefore Egg Beaters are no good. I would absolutely avoid.

Real eggs? Fantastic keto foods. Have as many as you can fit in. The limit is when you aren’t hungry any more.

My grandmother, probably had cancer, decided to go on a diet of eggs (mostly raw) and red wine. I’m not advising this, but she did live for another 10 years, died at age 97.

Ugh! Raw eggs make me gag. I’d rather die of cancer, to be honest.

Red wine, on the other hand, I like entirely too much. Though I greatly prefer white . . . . :wine_glass:
