Egg yolk intolerant - now what?!

(Carey) #1

I am freaking out a bit because I just received results from a recent food sensitivity test and my highest food was €|%¥ egg yolks! What a keto lifestyle without eggs?! That is almost like asking a ketoer to give up bacon!

It is possible that my continued healing in the keto path will resolve this but I am super bummed at this development because it feels daunting to cut out such a staple.

Does anyone know of any egg free AND keto resources you could point me to? Anyone else dealing with this and have advice to offer?

On a positive note, I am excited to see how cutting eggs from my diet will impact inflammation and possibly support further weight loss, improve energy, etc. Stay tuned!

Just don’t eat eggs for a while. Eventually, you may want to reintroduce to see if your alergies change. But, if you feel good without them, just eat more steak!

I took one of those tests and I tested high for EVERYTHING. Honestly - casein (butter. cheese, etc), eggs, GARLIC, green beans, nuts, gluten, etc. The list goes on and on. I cut it ALL out (this was long before keto) and then slowly added things back in to see how I responded. As it turns out, I was actually intolerant to eggs and pineapple. Gluten though - totally fine, oddly enough. I

Then, I went vegan for 3 months (so totally off eggs and other animal products). When I added eggs back into my diet, I was totally fine. I eat them al the time now. Like @jamestorie says, cut them out for a month or so, then try adding them again.

Maybe you just can’t eat them at your current level? I like yayhowfun’s suggestion of cutting them out and adding back slowly.

Also pay attention to how much inflammation is reduced without them. Then slowly add them back, 1 egg a day maybe?
