im on my begining on the keto diet trying to reach every day to 233g of fats(75%),140g or protein(20%), 30 or less grams of carbs(5%) , and when im coocking im thinking how can i increase my calories come from fat so i add some heavy cream (50ml) into my fried beef and of course its very tasty but it seems to be in my mind really really high calorie in very shorten time so i think i will just get fat of that.
Is it correct and if not how can i change my mind about eating a lot of fat every meal wont make me to gain weight instead of losing weight.

thank you !

As I said in my first reply to you, it takes time for some people to get past the old conditioning of fat being bad. Fat is not bad, the right kinds of fat are very good (avoid seed oils and vegetable oils). Forget everything you’ve always been told about fat being bad.

Give it a month and see how you feel. Or don’t worry about filling the fat macro, eat your protein, limit your carbs and consume whatever fat comes with it. And see how you do with that.

^^^^^ This, it really is that simple. Relax and stop worrying about calories, too much fat etc. That just raises your cortisol levels and can play havoc with your weight loss. Good fats are your best friends.

You are going for low carbs, sufficient protein, and fat to satiety, not just mindlessly eating it. Your body will pull some fat from your stores once you are fat adapted. Not unlimited amounts, but what it needs on a daily basis. So relax, KCKO.

Don’t worry so much about thinking you NEED to consume fat. For now, just stay under 20g net carbs and keep your electrolytes up. As you progress through the weeks, you’ll eventually learn about yourself and develop macros that fit your individual needs. What works as a rough guideline for others may or may not work for you. Don’t overthink it, you’re doing great!

Macros Schmacros…

Very few carbs.

Moderate protein.

Fat to satiety.

Worry about macros later if you’re not getting the results you want.

At first eat if you’re hungry. Don’t if you’re not. Don’t force extra fat you don’t want.

95% of the world (including me until recently) believes that eating fat makes you fat. The real enemies are sugar and carbs. You need to defeat them if you want to win the battle of the bulge. You can google a dozen articles that say fat doesn’t make you fat. Here’s one:

I also feared the fat and concentrated on low carb veg and protein. The problem is that I was still looking for food and snacking late at night. Surprise surprise I wasn’t losing weight. So I just added a tablespoon of heavy cream to the pan after frying my salmon in a little coconut nut oil, a pinch of mustard. Hey presto, no hunger and no snacking! I weighed .7kg lighter this morning. Yeah, water weight but the first shift in a long time.
